Ferries are generally safe and comfortable for families. However, speedboats can be very bumpy, especially in rough seas, and are not recommended for infants. While some operators do allow infants on speedboats, the decision ultimately rests with the parents, as the ride may be uncomfortable or stressful for very young children.
Infants under 2 years old are required to sit on an adult’s lap when traveling by bus, van, ferry, or speedboat. Please note that not all ferry operators allow infants under 2 years old to travel free of charge. We recommend checking with customer service in advance.
